Dr Atheer Al-Ansari graduated from Baghdad University.
His qualifications are; MBChB (Baghdad),
MRCP (Dublin), FRCP (Glasgow), Higher training in
Rheumatology (CCST) in East Midland’s deanery. He has a wide
range of experience in inflammatory joint diseases and bone
health conditions, and has a particular interest in
connective tissue disease, Ankylosing Spondylitis and
Dr Al-Ansari has research experience and publications in
topics including, Lupus in Asian population, Cardiovascular
risk in Rheumatoid Arthritis, Indication of DXA in
osteoporosis and some other topics. He is very keen to
promote the self management of inflammatory joint disease
under expert guidance.

Dr Warburton is currently a GPwSI in
Rheumatology and Musculoskeletal Medicine for NHS Telford
and Wrekin. She works in a new community Rheumatology
Service which was opened in August 2010, following a
successful bid to re-locate the hospital Rheumatology
Service into a Community setting.
Dr Warburton spends most of her time in Rheumatology and MSK
clinics and has only one session per week in General
She is also President of the Primary Care Rheumatology
Society and a trustee of ARMA.
Dr Warburton was one of the Clinical Guidelines Group who
prepared the NICE Guidelines for the Management of
Rheumatoid Arthritis in Adults which was released in 2009.
She also writes for Medical Magazines and is presently

Sister Alison Meadows …… Clinical Nurse Specialist
Alison Meadows is the lead Rheumatology Nurse Specialist for the
Community Rheumatology Service, and works in the service 4 days per
week, and 1 day per week at the RJ and AH Orthopaedic hospital.
She has been working as a Rheumatology Nurse Specialist for 15
years, previously working in Abergavenny and Bridgend before moving
to Shropshire in 2003. Alison works closely with Dr Al Ansari, Dr
Askari and Dr Warburton and runs her own clinics, she also manages
the Rheumatology Helpline and is a nurse prescriber.
